Preparation:

  • Clear the area of vegetation, rocks, and debris.

  • Grade the site for proper drainage.

Formwork Installation:

  • Set up and secure wooden or metal forms.

  • Ensure alignment with desired dimensions and slope.

Base Preparation:

  • Install gravel or crushed stone for a stable foundation.

  • Compact the base material thoroughly.

Reinforcement Placement (if needed):

  • Install rebar or wire mesh for added strength.

Concrete Mixing:

  • Prepare the concrete mix as per specifications.

  • Ensure proper proportioning and mixing.

Pouring Concrete:

  • Pour concrete into forms evenly.

Leveling and Screeding:

  • Use a screed board to level and remove excess material.

Finishing:

  • Smooth the surface with a bull float or darby.

  • Add decorative elements if desired.

Control Joint Installation:

  • Cut control joints to control cracking.

Curing:

  • Cover concrete to prevent rapid drying.

  • Allow curing for at least 7 days.

Sealing (optional):

  • Apply concrete sealer for protection.

Cleanup:

  • Remove forms and excess concrete.

  • Clean tools and surroundings.
